Welcome to Maui Hawaii -
A Beautiful Place to Vacation

Maui County encompasses the areas of Maui, Moloka’i, Lana’i and Kaho`olawe. Maui, or the Valley Isle, is the 2nd largest of the Hawaiian Islands. The island of Maui was actually formed by two separate volcanoes, one being Mt. Haleakala which is the worlds largest dormant volcano. This is where the very popular Maui downhill bike tours happen.

The second of Maui's volcanoes is Puu Kukui, which is located on the west side of the island and receives over 400 inches of rainfall annually. But don't let that rainfall amount scare you, they have a saying in Maui that if you don't like the weather where you are then just drive 10 minutes in any direction to be back in the sunshine again.

Maui has an amazing 42 miles of beaches with white, gold, black, red, green, garnet or salt and pepper colored sand. Although the Big Island has almost twice as much coastline as the other Hawaiian Islands combined, Maui has more swimmable beach than any other Hawaiian island.

Lana`i is almost all privately owned with a small population around 2,800. Lana’i has 47 miles of shoreline with beautiful natural beaches, including great places to snorkel. Moloka`i has the world’s tallest sea cliffs and some of the most spectacular waterfalls on the Hawaiian islands. At one time Kaho`olawe was used as a missile target by the U.S. Navy until 1992 when the island became a historical landmark and they began it's restoration.

So explore this website and do your planning then go pack your garment bags and get out the wheeled luggage but make sure to not forget your swimwear and sun screen. Maui Hawaii is a dream vacation of a lifetime.

Maui Hawaii Snorkeling Tip

If you have long hair and plan on snorkeling while in Hawaii, bring a rubber band to braid or pull your hair back. If you forget one, all you will see while snorkeling is your hair floating in front of your face in the water. ---------------------------

Whenever we go to Maui, we take lots of extra zip lock bags for sunscreen and etc. They are great for packing your damp bathing suits and wet sandals or water shoes on the return trip to the hotel.

Make sure to also pack plenty of moist towelettes in case there are not the lavish facilities at the beach to wipe the salt and sweat from your face and hands.

Make sure to pickup one of the "Things to do in Maui" pamphlets in one of the tourist racks at the airport or at your accomodation; they usually have some great discount Maui snorkeling coupons.
